The power of cloves and rice water for a radiant complexion

When we talk about natural skin care, we often forget that the best recipes are hidden in our kitchen cabinets. The combination of cloves and rice water is becoming an increasingly popular do-it-yourself facial treatment, known for soothing inflammation, brightening the complexion and giving the skin a healthy glow.

Why does this combination work?
This tonic isn’t just a trend; it uses the proven properties of two powerful ingredients:

Rice water: Rich in B vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Rice water acts as a mild astringent, narrows pores, soothes irritations and helps even out the complexion.

Clove: Known for its powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Eugenol, the active ingredient in cloves, helps fight acne and pimple-causing bacteria while boosting circulation.

How to prepare this natural treatment?
The preparation is simple, but it requires a little patience in order for the nutrients to be properly extracted.

Ingredients:
3-4 tablespoons of organic rice (uncooked)
3-4 whole cloves
1 cup of distilled or boiled water

Instructions for preparation:

Rinsing: Briefly rinse the rice with cold water to remove any impurities.
Soaking: Place the rice and cloves in a clean glass container and cover with water.
Extraction: Leave the mixture to stand for at least 2-4 hours (or overnight for a stronger effect).
Filtering: Strain the liquid through a fine strainer into a clean spray bottle or glass jar.

How to use it?
Daily routine: Wash your face with a mild cleanser, then apply toner using a cotton pad or by spraying directly onto your face. Leave to dry naturally.

Storage: Be sure to store this tonic in the fridge! Since it does not contain preservatives, it can be kept for a maximum of 3 to 5 days. After that, make a fresh tour.

Important notes before use
Although these ingredients are natural, everyone’s skin is different.

Sensitivity test: Before applying to the whole face, be sure to apply a small amount on the inner part of the forearm. If you notice redness, burning or itching, this treatment is not for your skin type.

Cloves can be strong and irritating for very sensitive skin, so if you feel too much burning, next time use less cloves or dilute the toner with a little more water.
